New year, same trend! Visual media will continue to play a monumental role in driving online conversions. To keep up with visual-experience trends and best practices, Cloudinary holds an annual conference called ImageCon, a one-of-a-kind event that helps attendees create the most engaging visual experiences possible.
With building, growing, and maintaining a strong digital presence being a top priority for all brands, high-quality visual content is paramount. In fact, consumers are 40 times more likely to share visual content on social networks than on other forums. Plus, a recent study from Wyzowl found that 84% of consumers made purchase decisions after watching a video, which explains why many brands are adding more and more visual media to their sites.
Underscoring the growing relevance of online visual experiences, our fifth annual ImageCon conference on October 19-20 is going digital for the second year. We’re also proud to welcome Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) and Contentful as our event sponsors. As much as we’d love to connect ‘In Real Life’ it’s still too early to do so safely. Fortunately our 2020 experience proved that a virtual event can certainly inform, educate, connect and entertain. Best of all, we’re able to engage with more of our customers and partners around the world as a virtual event is more accessible
During this months-long COVID-19 pandemic, which of us have not made purchases online? In particular, early on during the lockdown, when only essential businesses were open, the web was the primary shopping outlet. Accordingly, we as consumers have come to learn how varied retailers and brands are in e-commerce savvy.
E-commerce thrives as an attention-oriented economy in which customers expect engaging and high-quality experiences at all touchpoints. Given the increasingly prominent role images and videos play in customer experiences, e-businesses must focus on creating, managing, optimizing, and then delivering visual media in the most compelling and context-relevant way possible.
Cloudinary’s annual conference this year, ImageCon 2020, was held online between July 27-30 with more than 18 sessions on a parade of topics that relate to visual storytelling. They focused on the strategies, tools, and best practices on how to leverage rich media, particularly images and videos, to boost user experience, revenue, and brand perception.
Despite our disappointment at the cancellation of our fourth annual ImageCon conference in late April due to the pandemic, we forged on and are thrilled to announce a digital version of ImageCon on Monday July 27 through the 30th, an excellent forum for learning from our customers, partners, and colleagues. The new digital format will deliver much of the same Visual Web-related content planned for April along with new additions, featuring five interactive sessions by renowned experts in the media sector. Each session will be about 30 minutes long, during which you can ask the speakers questions live and “get on stage.” Also, you can watch the sessions on demand afterwards.
