Cloudinary Recognized as a Best Place to Work

Since its founding Cloudinary has been a people-driven business. We wanted to create a culture fueled by transparency, trust and collaboration to encourage our employees to always be developing, learning and contributing.

Today I am so lucky and very excited to announce that for the second time Cloudinary has won the Best Place to Work in the Bay Area, an awards program presented by the San Francisco Business Times and the Silicon Valley Business Journal. This year we claimed the #1 spot in the Mid-Size Business Category following a win in 2018 for the Small-Size Business Category.

Winning this award for the second time is a true testament to our people and acknowledgement of the strong culture we have instilled within Cloudinary. What’s more is that it proves that despite our rapid growth over the last few years, we have maintained a strong culture where we put our people first.

Cloudinary began its journey eight years ago in a small office outside Tel Aviv, now we have over 300 employees across five global offices, serving more than 7,500 customers from all over the world. Cloudinary would not be what it is without its people and winning this award for a second time makes me proud and humbled to stand side by side with such impressive, smart and good-hearted people.

In the past year everyone at Cloudinary came together, worked as a team and despite so many challenges in our midst we successfully weathered the storm and came out the other side. But to know that our people were happy during it all is what matters most to me.

We were also honored with a Wellness in the Workplace award at the same event taking the #1 spot out of five other businesses honored.

When the pandemic hit and the world switched to remote working we knew there would be some challenging adjustments. Cloudinary employees took the challenges of 2020 in stride, by working together to stay motivated and support our customers. Their collaborative effort is central to the success of our business and our people is what makes Cloudinary what it is today.

Automatically Translating Videos for an International Audience

No matter your business focus—public service, B2B integration, recruitment—multimedia, in particular video, is remarkably effective in communicating with the audience. Before, making video accessible to diverse viewers involved tasks galore, such as eliciting the service of production studios to manually dub, transcribe, and add subtitles. Those operations were costly and slow, especially for globally destined content.

Cloudinary Helps Minted Manage Its Image-Generation Pipeline at Scale

Shoppers return time and again to Minted’s global online community of independent artists and designers because they know they can count on unique, statement-making products of the highest quality there. Concurrently, the visual imagery on Minted.com must do justice to the designs into which the creators have poured their hearts and souls. For Minted’s VP of Engineering David Lien, “Because we are a premium brand, we need to ensure that every single one of our product images matches the selected configuration exactly. For example, if you pick an 18x24 art print on blue canvas, we will show that exact combination on the hero images in the PDF.”
