Companies across all industries rely on images to tell stories, connect with audiences and sell products. In many ways, it’s never been easier to connect directly with consumers. On the other hand, more content, channels and devices creates a complex web of new hurdles and headaches. Brands are under intense pressure to not just deliver compelling visual stories and immersive and personalized experiences, but to do so at lightning speed and volumes that just a few years ago would have been impossible. Marketers understand that visual content boosts engagement and sales. The question is how can I produce more visual-rich content faster and everywhere my audiences are engaging.
You’d be hard-pressed to find a company that knows more (than we) about how to deploy images to educate, entertain, persuade and sell than Shutterstock. That’s why visual storytellers from all over the world rely on Shutterstock’s licensed images and videos.
Most people who work in creative teams know Shutterstock for its high-quality licensed, stock photography, but it offers much more than that. These facts about the company may surprise you:
- More than photography: Shutterstock also supplies vectors, illustrations, videos and now, music.
- More than "stock": Shutterstock now offers a service to provide ‘authentic,’ or brand-specific custom content.
- More than a content library: Shutterstock also provides premium tools and services to help teams source, manage, share and distribute content in line with visual identity and commercial objectives.
Managing and delivering all this visual content at the speed and scale of today’s business, however, remains a constant battle for creative teams. It is especially hard for those short on technical skills and in-house resources. That’s why despite video’s growing popularity, many companies aren’t using as much video as they should or could be.
Announcing Our Partnership With Shutterstock
Today we’re delighted to announce an integration with Shutterstock. We share the same vision to empower creative teams to achieve the highest possible returns on visual content. Together we are removing classic obstacles, streamlining everything from licensing issues to adapting video to different devices and browsers.
The first milestone of our partnership, available now, is a new integration that lets joint Shutterstock-Cloudinary customers purchase and load their images and videos directly into Cloudinary’s DAM (Digital Asset Management) solution without first having to download them. Team members can also easily search, browse, tag, organize, manipulate, and distribute their Shutterstock digital assets. Cloudinary’s DAM also dismantles the functional silos that inhibit team collaboration and tighter workflows.
More to Come
Stay tuned for even tighter integration between Cloudinary and Shutterstock. In the next phase of integration, Cloudinary users will gain direct access to Shutterstock’s massive library of more than 300 million images and 16 million video clips. This means Cloudinary customers will be able to easily search, license and load assets from Shutterstock directly into Cloudinary without needing to have a Shutterstock account.
Cloudinary and Shutterstock will continue to investigate new ways to further integrate our tools and services to remove obstacles, streamline storytelling and help brands achieve the highest possible return on visual content. As they say, watch this space!
