In May 2018, Cloudinary sponsored Capitol Music Group’s first hackathon held by its new Capitol360 Innovation Center, which aims at connecting musicians and software technologists to facilitate and stimulate the creation of music. Over the past several years, I've had a chance to participate in hackathons, as part of teams that developed a social payment app and helped users decide meals to cook. But it wasn't until last month that I got to experience a hackathon from the other side, as a judge.
Over the life of a mobile device, the cost of a cellular data plan often exceeds that of the device itself. To optimize data usage and purge useless data on their mobile devices, users can enable Data Saver from Android 7.0 (API level 24). To do so, users toggle Data Saver in quick settings under the Notification shade or under Settings > Data usage. With Data Saver enabled, apps that aren't whitelisted cannot use cellular data in the background. They are also directed to consume less data while active.

Individuals and organizations constantly face a plethora of passport-related issues, ranging from identity theft to impersonations and other vices. As an individual, you could be denied a job or visa just because of a minor noncompliance with the complex requirements for your passport photo. To avoid falling victim to such situations, you need an elaborate measure that ensures that your passport photo meets those requirements without fail.
Complex Networks has been using Cloudinary since 2014 to manage and optimize images across seven websites and two mobile apps, making editorial workflow more efficient, improving page performance and load time, and increasing user engagement. Cloudinary was instrumental in enabling Complex Networks to redesign its web properties. Without the flexibility that Cloudinary offers to both creative and development teams, it would not have been possible for Complex Networks to achieve such a fast time to market.
During both my computer science studies and work in the tech field, there have not been a lot of women present. While our ranks have grown, women still make up only a small percentage. In many ways, I think the traditionally male-dominated world can be intimidating to women and girls who may be interested in pursuing these types of tech careers.
Nowadays, community managers and developer teams in organizations around the world routinely set up local and international conferences, physical or remote. Those meetups not only empower attendees with the latest information regarding the conference themes, but also provide a great opportunity for the organizers to showcase and advocate their products and services.
On June 13-14, O'Reilly held its annual Fluent + Velocity conference in San Jose and it was great! Cloudinary set up a pretty incredible booth and brought in a professional photographer to take headshots of the attendees who stopped by. Once a photo was snapped, the raw camera file was immediately uploaded to our media library and transformed into something that can be posted right away on LinkedIn.
